Learning and studying art styles

i think i do, though i am not sure of/if there is a name for it.

but for studying styles, i think the best way is to emulate artists yoy admire. reference their work, even trace it (don't post it, it's just for personal practice) to get a feel for how the style is portrayed. there's tons of youtube videos out there of artists detailing their process too, like in time lapses, that show each and every layer. might help to simply immerse yourself!
