So, this guy I know. He's been divorced for 6 years....traumatic divorce. He hasn't dated or been with anyone since the divorce. He's been saying he's not ready and he still doesn't trust women. 2 months ago he decided to sign up for online dating. He didn't try contacting anyone, but he did reply to one girl who messaged him. She was going to a dance club in the city so he decided to meet up with her there. Mind you, he doesn't dance, doesn't like dancing and the club scene is not his thing. His wife tried to get him to go once, he got all uncomfortable and irritated...never made it inside. He just went home. Which is exactly what happened when he went to meet this girl. He got all irritated and left.

I have some theories, but what do you all think about this?

Please be kind, thanks 😊

@peachTurtle6123

maybe cause no body told him that he can build new memories to overwrite new memories?

sounds a little confusing. He might say he's ready, but if this is his usual behavior when meeting new people, this most likely means he isn't ready after all. Then again, everyone takes things at their own speed. I don't doubt that it is just a matter of time until the right person comes by, it's all trial and error I guess!

Sometimes with things that I’m uncomfortable with, I have to push myself to feel uncomfortable so I can grow. Growth does not come from a place of comfort. Sometimes you have to push yourself to do that uncomfortable thing! He’s aware and made the attempt, now he just has to do it! Full send!

@CompletelyZen36

That seems perfectly reasonable with someone you know, but for a first meeting? Never a good idea
