Earning less than $10 / hour
How would you deal with knowing that there are people in the world who make more than $10 / hour and you make $1 / hour ?
I'm working on moving outside of this country where i currently live, but at the moment i have to work for $1 / hour and most of the times i feel sad cuz i work for this amount of money,i feel worthless tbh .. i just genuinely need advice on how to trick my mind until i start making at least $15/ hour..
PS. i'm using dollars so it's easier for you to understand
Hm….
well first I’m sorry you are having such a hard time. I do hope I can help….
i am currently also living in a country that is not my home country. And I have qualifications that are highly above the pay grade in which I have taken positions. It’s definitely humiliating and degrading at times. BUT what I try to focus on is the positive. Are there any positive things you can focus on to counter thinking about your pay grade? For example … I think about the amount of culture and nature I am surrounded by every second of the day. I think about the the amount of paid holidays each month here VS in the states. I think about how much people value mental health and stability here and how I have free healthcare and I could further my education in a university for free here too. I think about how much less I actually have to work here than I worked in the states. I lived in LA for ten years and worked in entertainment which meant I worked about 13-17 hours a day at times. I spent more time with my co workers than I did in my own bed. But I never have to work like that again not while I am here. And so I have found ways to compare the lifestyle differences and find positives that glance out the negative difference in pay grade. I hope that makes sense and I hope it helps. I think it’s admirable that you continue to work under the current circumstances and I hope you know that you are a strong person and this too shall pass. You will make it through and you will be rewarded. Have faith. Don’t worry. 💚
