I would want to be Vasya Petrovna from The Winternight Trilogy. I've dealt with being oppressed by double standards and a strict upbringing...but man, would it be so satisfying to wield magic and traverse between this world and the supernatural world. Talking to horses, seeing the supernatural, willing the world as I would have it...small price to pay, I think.
