Lets talk about classic literature

I grew up with so many good books my father used to read to me. After he passed away I decided to read his entire book collection and I found real jewels in there. I remember Ivanhoe, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (pretty funny), Treasure Island, the spooky H. P. Lovecraft with The Haunter of the Dark, and how to forget the amazing Jules Verne with A Journey to the Centre of the Earth? There are so many good books that transport me to different places, different worlds and make me live different lives.

But there is one book in special that took root in me heart and I've read it 3 times now. It is Dracula, by Bram Stoker. It is not suited for children, I know, but there is something magical in the way the author describes every scene and the language he uses. I like Mina and how she is such a strong woman in the middle of all the turmoil, misfortune and terror caused by the vampire. And there is only a way to describe a character like her. In Bram Stoker's own words:

"She is one of God's women, fashioned by His own hand to show us men and other women that there is a heaven where we can enter, and that its light can be here on earth. So true, so sweet, so noble, so little an egoist- and that, let me tell you, is much in this age, so skeptical and selfish."

She's the light of heaven in person, she's the proof of good things awaiting for us after a long and difficult joruney, she is the personification of hope, and that is precisely what mankind (and me) need: Hope.
