What hope do we have (as humans)?

So, list an experience that supports or dismisses (only fair to show both sides) that we have hope as humans for a better future?
I'll start by saying "I remember one day I dropped my wallet on a ground and a person found it and brought it back to me. Mazing!"

I remember how when my friends died hundreds of people came from all over the country to just be there for the people that needed them, my city even closed down for a day in their memory. Seeing them all come together and show true concern for others made me have faith in humanity.
