Making Friends
How do I join other groups other than the main sharing circle and can I message people one on one who aren't listeners as well? I'm currently using the mobile app, not the website, but I can use the website if there's more options on there. I don't mind talking to listeners, but sometimes it's nice to have someone who relate on a personal level versus only comfort and advice, not sure if listeners offer that. I would still be talking to listeners, since that's what the app is for and I found the one I talked to helpful. But I also want to make new friends through this app to have someone to talk to and someone who can also talk to me about mental health issues that we share that we can kind of talk about our experience of slowly overcoming our issues and helping each other overcome them. I've had a few friendships like that and although it's not what the whole friendship is about, it's still helpful to have friends around who can relate and understand me when I'm going through a rough time without people looking scared or hopeless / sad they don't know how to help when sometimes all I need is someone to relate and understand. I also like being there for others as well, so I guess I'm looking for a friendship where we can relate and understand each other, with our mental health issues and get along regardless. But one way to do that, is to get to know people through group chats and one on one messaging. I just don't know how to do that or if it's an option. Or if that's an option with listeners if it's not an options with other users.
Honestly, I’m not sure if there is an option but maybe it would help if you got their Instagram or social media in general to talk more ona personal level or friend to friend basis? I hope that helps LOL:) I’m here if you need! Just let me know
Well, I'm not really sure how to ask someone for their social media in case they don't want just anyone adding them (since it would be on a public form). And I don't get most notifications from this app so if they published it for an hour or so and then delete it, I might not notice in time, due to not knowing of a response from lack of notifications. I am interested in this idea though
Sadly, it isn't possible for members to message members. Talking in chatrooms can really be nice, there are usually some quieter rooms in which you can talk with people, fairly privately. It's also completely possible to find a listener who can relate to you better! If you really feel like those things aren't working for you, you can create forum posts such as this one, where you can talk back and forth with anybody! If you indicate at the very top that you don't want anybody reading except for a few select people, then nobody will be reading those things except for you and your friends. Well wishes!
