What to do if you're afraid to talk to someone?

I... used to seek out online chats, making new friends and connections.

Now, the thought of talking to someone - and getting so overwhelmed at how to start - is holding me back. I have a friend who suggested I seek this kind of counselling for myself, but I don't know... I've always been okay chatting online with anonymity, but I don't know what's happening here.

Just now, after logging in for the first time in 4 years, I panicked at the notification bell because there were listeners available immediately. This probably sounds very silly.

I suppose I'm asking for advice?

You're doing great pebbles. If you don't want to hear the bell, you can turn it off if that's easier for you - so you're in command to choose to write here or not write whenever you want to. Maybe later you want to come to sharing circle also, just to listen or to share.

You've done so well to reach out. I'm the same as you. I struggle so much then do ok or at least think I am then next thing I'm back to square one. I do some colouring when my mind goes into overdrive or try to talk to my partner which is hard when he doesn't understand what goes on in my brain either.
