I am struggling in rl with my dad's heart device replacement surgery coming up and living in a rural area without anything to do I am bored and can't drive, I used to enjoying coloring adult books but not since my mom said something very hurtful and not truthful about my dad any advice on a new hobby I could do to feel better and less bored and sad?

Welcome 🤗

I'm sorry to hear about your dad and I hope his surgery is a success 💚

What helps me is listening to music, journalling, and reading.

I'm sorry you fell out of joy with colouring 💚

Hello and welcome.

I am sorry to hear about your dad's upcoming surgery.  I hope that the surgery will be successful.

Do you enjoy jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles?  How about solitaire card games on the computer?  Hopefully, you can get back into adult coloring.

Happy New Year!!!

Photography, for me. Even just with a phone camera. It’s a technical thing with lots to learn, and it can help reframe your surroundings and find beauty in the ordinary, or yourself. Wishing you well 💛

@ivoryShip3068 That sounds really hard, especially with your dad’s surgery coming up and being stuck without much to do. Anyone would feel bored and low in that situation. It also makes sense that coloring does not feel good anymore after hearing something hurtful.

Since you cannot get out much, maybe try something gentle like audiobooks, podcasts, simple journaling, phone games, or puzzles just to keep your mind occupied. Even small things like stretching, breathing exercises, or taking care of a plant can help a little.
Be kind to yourself. You are dealing with a lot right now, and it is okay to just take things one day at a time. You are not alone here.
