I’m new to 7 cups and just looking for support and connection. The holidays are always a difficult time for me, especially since Covid. I’m estranged from by very abusive family and moved to a new state for a job shortly before the lockdown. It’s been challenging meeting new people where I live and forming acquaintances. I’m very lonely. ☹️

Hi, Pom. For what it's worth, I currently find myself in a pretty similar situation (abusive family background and trying to form new connections).
For me as well, the holidays can accentuate the gravity of the things I'm dealing with. I feel like the holidays really magnify the positives of solid personal and familial relationships. Whereas for individuals in our situations, the inverse can feel just as true.
I do want to let you know, even just from an internet stranger, that you are not alone.
