Hi everyone. Not sure what to put in my introduction. I'm here for support just like everyone else. I'm 43 and my husband is an alcoholic. At the moment drinking moderately. Three months ago he was almost dead, so... I also suffer from a type of bipolar, have OCD, extreme stress and anxiety. I have a whole host of issues. LOL. I already see a therapist and she is wonderful, but one session a week only helps so much. And sometimes, like right now, I need someone to listen. Today was a bad day.

Addiction can be so cruel but it's great that you are reaching out here for support. Hoping that tomorrow will be a better day for you.

I go to Al-Anon Family Group meetings. My father was an alcoholic. I learned that I was confused because I learned his behaviour from his role modelling, Then I had to blend that will my mother's role modelling. I was confused because my mother was trying to tell me that he was a sinner because he drank, and he could just stop whenever he wanted. Both of them, so stupid, and me stuck in the middle. Al-Anon has been really helpful to me. I journal a lot, and I make art. I am much better now.

I have an alcoholic husband too. He has always encouraged me to go right alongside him instead of facing things. I don’t deal with my past traumas or stress of life very well.
