Hello

May 17th, 2017

Hello, I've been on 7cups for a little while but am just now exploring the forums. I'm m2f trans and have already gotten my name and gender legally changed. I very recently got my first smart phone and am already addicted to it. One of the first things I got on it was Pokemon Go... I used to be obsessed with Pokemon in middle school and am not really into Pokemon any more, but I love this particular game because it encourages me to exercise. I've been walking 4-8 miles per day because of it.

I'm OCD, schizoaffective, PTSD, and some doctors think I'm bipolar and some think I'm BPD. I don't think I'm bipolar. I was diagnosed EDNOS back when that was a diagnosis, which basically meant I was anorexic but was too heavy to be diagnosed as anorexic--but I've recovered from that, though sometimes I have urges to starve myself again, it's like I'm not fully recovered.

Oh, and I used to have a major drinking problem. I was drinking 30 or more shots of vodka per day. I would wake up in the morning and have 3 shots, then every 2 hours like clockwork, I would have another 2 or 3 shots. All day, every day, even while at work. I never got caught drinking at work, never had any Duos or any consequences... but eventually I realized I was going to have health problems from such extreme drinking. So at first I went to AA. AA was very bad for me. First of all, they expected me to quit cold turkey, and since then, I've learned that is very dangerous, especially at the height I was drinking because alcohol withdrawals can literally kill you. Also, I was of the belief that I could return to a social drinking phase. Members there ripped me new holes telling me I needed to get with the program etc. Some members actually told me to go out and drink MORE so that I would hit "rock bottom and come back when I was serious. I was appalled by that! I was there to get help! AA literature says the only requirement is the desire to stop drinking... and AT THAT TIME, I desired to stop drinking. But anyway, AA drove me away, and I discovered an organization called HAMS which helps people learn to drink in moderation again. And I have. Currently, I drink about once per month! And people in AA told me that would be impossible.

Anyway, that's enough of my biography for now, lol.
