Hello and thank you
Just joined the app. I've been struggling with a lot for quite a bit that's been eating away at me and turning me into a person I never wanted to become. I'm no longer going to let my pride get in the way and bottle it all up. I've sought out professional counseling services as well, but that doesn't start until next week, so looking for other things I can do to help myself along the way and came across 7 Cups. Looking forward to meeting and talking with others. Thank you for this service.
I feel the same way. It’s difficult being someone that you never wanted to become and wondering if your really this person or just someone else’s perception of this. Glad we are here and seeking some peace, advice and healing.
Yeah, the last week especially has been tough for me. My wife approached me extremely bluntly and straightforward about who I've become and her concerns. I'm becoming more and more like my dad every day, which is not a good thing. For the last 8-9 years I've been progressively becoming more angry, irritable, untrusting, introverted, and just overall less fun. I used to be the life of the party, an extrovert, happy all the time, joyful, and just enjoying life in general. When I have my outbursts and bad moments, it's almost like an out-of-body experience where I can't control what I'm saying and a lot of it feels like a dream afterwards, or I guess a nightmare.
This has been an extremely tough week or so for me personally as I've always been taught to bottle things up and show no emotions because I'm a guy, but obviously that doesn't work because the pot has been boiling over and sometimes exploding all too often lately. I want to be happy and start enjoying life again, so I've sought out professional help, but I also wanted to find a community like this that I can share and communicate with others going through similar things to help with my recovery process as much as possible. I despise the man I've become and am finally ready to throw my pride and bottled up shame to the side to become start the healing and recovery process.
