I’m here because I overthink things to the point of causing excessive stress. Mostly when it comes to my behavior in stressful situations. I have a lot of regret usually. My problem is I don’t have any friends so I have no one to talk things over with to get it out of my head. I have family. But no friends. So I’m here.

Hi @intellectualEyes5672. I'm sorry that you're having these struggles. I think it's important for you to remember that you don't have to feel alone. It's okay to struggle with these kinds of issues and it's important to be proud of how well you've done so far in regards to how you've dealt with them. I also think it's important to note that a lot of the things we tend to overthink are way less complex than they actually are. The key is to not get in your head too much by distracting your mind with engagement in activities/hobbies you enjoy. You can also set goals for yourself, whether they be small or big, to work towards. You'll also naturally feel less stressed when you work on other things, since being productive naturally dimishes any anxieties you may have of the future. Working on goals and pursuing hobbies you enjoy also help in finding balance in life. When you live life in a more balanced way, your mind will feel more at peace. Lastly, I think it's important to be aware of your inner thoughts and acknowledge when you're starting to overthink something. Once you do, try to refrain from going further down that train of thought, and understand why you are thinking those thoughts. Once you figure out the reasoning, it's important to understand that although you think that you may be trying to help yourself by overthinking your overthinking is only making matters worse for you. It's doing more harm than good. After understanding the reason for why the thoughts are there, you can then move on to properly break away from that line of thinking and focus on things that will actually benefit you. You can also check out other videos on overthinking and mental health on YouTube. There are some great ones on there. I hope this helps! Sorry for the long response. Hang in there and may the odds be in your favor.
