Insert a witty introductive title here.
Hello everyone and guten tag from Germany!
I joined this site a week or two ago and the bot had been rather persistent that I post an introduction to the community, so here we go; I do not think it really needs to be said why I am here, I am here for the same reasons everyone is. Life is a beautiful, yet often burdensome, enigma and for every darkness there is, there are small, but very bright, stars out there to be found.
Have I gone through many difficult things in my 25 years of life? Haven't we all. Today I am optimistic and I want to believe that there are just a few more stars then shadowed places. I am, however, flawed. Not perfect, and I find it difficult to sit here and tell you all that I have more optimistic days then that of negative ones. I hide behind a smile and I hide behind anger.
There are days that I regret every decision and situation iveI ever made for myself, days when I feel that iveI wasted the life I was given (Don't we all want to be a profound member of society?) There are days I lock myself in the bathroom and think of who would miss me. There are days I cry myself to sleep and yes, there are even days when I believe no one could ever care about me.
So why am I telling you all this? As many on this website have said; you are not alone. Being human means many things. It means pain, greif, regret, sorrow, worry, anxiety, and depression. But, it also means love, laughter, happiness (found even in the smallest morsels of our every day lives) but most importantly being human means opportunity. We can choose to grow from our experiences, to be stronger, to be happy, to be whatever we want to be.
I am far from repairing the damage that life has thrown my way, but I choose to do it and I choose to appreciate my humanity. I want you all to know that, no matter what, you have a choice. It may be hard to make the right one sometimes, but that is when you choose not to give up.
If you made it to the end of my rant, thank you for reading it and I look forward to understanding more about all of you, as well as myself.
