I've seen too many times that humans don't have much of a free will or practically a choice.
Our lives are dictated by phenomenons like implicit egotism, our age, gender, appereance, education of parents, age we live in, economy, politics, tradition, familiar ties, arbitrary rules of our employer, spouse, immature majority... Given all this, there is too many outside factors and too little of our own influence.

Agree! even when we try to exercise the free will and make a decision of our own, we make it through the prism of our distorted mind, and often it makes us worse off. Some of us are better than others at that. I'm not good at it, especially when depressed (very often).
That only means you make a decision based on different factors therefore are a logical being. Nothing dictates your thought process, they merely influence it. Take everything away and what you get is not a free decision but an uninformed one.
@impartialPrune6074
Real life is not black/white, it's all shades of green, hard to use logic, at least my life that is...
That is factually incorrect, you merely replace 2 colors with just one.
Yes. Free will is an illusion of those who don't understand determinism...I used to believe in it too, until a few years ago.
Not only does free will not exist, neither does the distinct self, when you think about it. Humans are just ambulatory bags of organic chemistry, mostly not special.
@slowdecline48
lol, we're only good at surviving, propagating the species, and destroying the planet...
I mean I would like to be more spiritual, but it's not an easy task...

Thank you for your post that made me journey on different representations of the features of life throughout ages. That's why i appreciated that they're also a feature in your post. Determinism could be defined by all the occasions characteristics of life give us to meet with ourselves, though i see it more spontaneously as a topological entity, one of the rule of it being that we can't dispense with the path back to the origin.
Wouldn't language then be what can catch us into the net of images?
Wow, I expected someone to offer me some hope instead I got a confirmation of this depressing catastrophic statement backed up by philosophy.
@helloCranberry5684
LOL, you can still enjoy the life if you chose to....
