Living with an alcoholic
Hi everyone,
I am at my wits end, I live with a woman whom I love but she is an alcoholic. It is a biweekly cycle, she co-parents with her ex a week with us then a week with him.
As soon as the kids leave it is an excuse to go to the liquor store and stock up on a couple of 26oz bottles of vodka, this will likely last until the following day where she will order more in. It's been known for a 5 day 6 bottle binge. This is every 2 weeks without fail.
I seriously don't know what to do anymore. It came to a head today as the kids are here but she wanted a drink to toast the New Year in last night. 12hrs later the bottle is empty and she is passed out. Stupidly I called her on the drinking while the kids were her,she swore blind that she was just tired and had not drank it all. She even came to me with a 2/3 full bottle to prove her point. I took it and drank some, and as I knew it was full of water.
The denial has reached new depths and I can't continue.
Does anyone have advice?
