Living with in-laws

Hi , I've been married for 5 years and been living with in-laws for the last 4 years. My mil used to make snide passive aggressive remarks in the past . It was very difficult for me, we started setting boundaries. She even phoned and complained to my parents about this . She always looked down on me . So now we both keep to our sides of the house and hardly see each other . However I just can't get over the things they said and did . I keep thinking about it . It makes me so angry and upset . I even think of hypothetical situation s that might happen . We have financial struggles too as only my husband works ( I'm still studying). It's a cultural thing so they won't move out . I don't want to think about them . I can't focus on anything else coz of this . What can I do?

I just came across your post and hope you have since connected with some great listeners who have helped you sort out your feelings. Living with extended family comes with a lot of challenges, even in the best of circumstances. We are here for you to "talk it out" if you're still strugging with these issues. Take care and be well.

If it's cultural the they should esteem that you're studying, update them yourself or have your SO communicate your progress

*i am mixed race and my ex was mono racial of a related racial category and his family was fine with me me working part time/studying while I lived w them. They just didn't like my pet so I had to leave.
