My dad won’t let me get a tattoo
I just told my dad (i’m 17) that i plan on getting a tattoo for my 18th birthday. He’s christian and grew up in a very religious household but I thought he was getting better on being open minded. He kinda laughed, realized i was serious and told me i’m not allowed to have one until i move out. Told me i was too young, its permanent, how he may have one but it’s small. How tattoos now n days r obnoxious . The thing is I always liked tattoos, and all of them have meaning
Hi Jenna!
i got my tattoos at 16 for free and regret them still except for one lol but till this day and I’m 30.
once your 18 your free to do what you want. If your in a position to be kicked out I would suggest hide it for as long as possible.
all in all it’s good to take your time to think about your tattoos. Not saying wait forever but the older you get you grow out of certain interest.
best of luck and tattoos are one of the best form of art! It’s fun to express yourself that way!
hope this helped
get your own when u got 18 …. U dont need to have their permission
Hey! My parents are also pretty conservative and anti-tattoo. I ended up getting one for my grandfather which they knew I was going to do when I was 19. Although they didn’t approve, they appreciated the sentiment. I don’t regret that one.
The second one was a bit more impulsive, still had meaning but not as deep as my grandfather’s. I thought about that one much less. I don’t want to get it removed but it’s not my favorite.
The first tattoo idea was something I sat with for about two years to make sure I really really wanted it. I would recommend taking some time (at least a year to sit on it) and if you still want it, go for it. I would start with something small and meaningful, and if that’s the case, your dad will forgive you (at least mine did).
