NEW-Mans best friend-Christmas sad news
Well Hi I'm new here you can call me Deuceman, I am 42, have some serijous problems but the most recent problem and current issue Im dealing with today is sad news we got over Christmas. My 2 year old great dane most likely has bone marrow cancer and we must consider our options by the end of the week. Very sad times!
We also had to make this decision to let our elderly dog go and after crying in the vet's office, when we saw how peaceful he was no longer suffering, it was a blessing. I suggested to my husband that we should immediately get another dog and within 48 hours, we brought home a new puppy. Now, we are able to talk about our older dog with affection but are not grieving every day and the new puppy is a joy.
@Cubby2020 I have decided this will be the last time I get one. We still have a golden retriever though.
@Deuceman We just went through a similar situation with one of our dogs on Thanksgiving. She had been diagnosed with cancer on September 19th of this year. It's funny how that date has stuck in my mind. It's an incredibly hard decision to have to make, because so often the choices we're given, aren't really choices at all. We don't want them to suffer, but it's so hard to let them go. You and your furry friend will be in my thoughts.

@Deuceman Have you given any thought to a bucket list? I apologize if that sounds insensitive, it seemed to help here a little. We did all kinds of things and she had things to eat that we wouldn't have normally let her have. With in limits, of course. You don't want to make him sick. Granted we had a little more time. The vet had said she had a month, we were lucky enough to have her for a month and a half longer. I think the bucket list helped, it may have just been a little , but she was loved and I think she knew it. I hope so. I feel for you. It is so hard.
