I'm sorry you feel friendless.  What opportunities are available for you to connect with others?  For a variety of reasons, I was an oddball growing up, and most of the time, friendless.  Social media didn't exist, nor did the internet.  I wasn't popular in school, so my isolation was total.  Although it wasn't a happy time, I was so shy and introverted, I had little interest in making friends anyway.  

I've had very few friends in my life, but happy to have had those few.  However, through 7cups and other support sites, I often feel a strong sense of connection with others.  

I also have my own theory about friends.  The idea is that one can't "make" friends, but instead they can be recognized by their attributes, such as compassion and integrity.  Along the same line, I look for people to admire.  If I never meet or talk to them, I still consider them friends.  

I'm still shy and introverted. I don't readily approach people, but when for one reason or another, I encounter others, having an inclination to consider them friends, helps make the experience more pleasant.  

Per my "friend recognition" theory, I think you're surrounded by friends here.
