New here, feeling unrelatable to others over past

Hi there :) In general, Im a 22 year old female, Im a freshman in college, and despite good recovery self-love wise (I went vegan and am about to get back into running). I had a fairly rough journey to achieving that (porn, working at a brothel) and I really feel like my past isolates me from other people. I do have a really radiant personality and I do make friends easily in person, but I feel like I cant be open with them about this because it would make me really unrelatable and would require a lot of trust. If anyone else has an ‘ugly past they feel is hard to share with others, I would love to get acquainted.

@considerateRaspberries2271 Hi Considerate Raspberries 2271. I don't have an "ugly" past, only a rough week -- but allow me to give my two cents. I think most people have felt isolated and lonely at certain times in their lives, though your experience is uniquely yours. I am sure that most people also have secrets they don't tell anyone. To find someone who would understand you, perhaps test the waters little by little, such as by talking about the general feeling of isolation and loneliness. Then gradually talk about your specific experience to those who seem to understand what you are going through. It may be hard to find someone who would understand, but the journey of finding that person is worth it.
