Hello all beautiful people of 7Cups! I hope everyone is having a most marvelous day! I can be a needie person and I wanted to find an American long time listener and virtual kinda bestie on here. I hope not all of those listeners are taken. Thanks for listening to this needie gal, who's planning to quit smoking tomorrow and is in need of one-on-one support. :-)

And I wish everyone a Merry rest of there day!! (Or night, depending on where you are.)

Hello everyone,

I'm 25 and I've been dealing with depression since I was 18...maybe even younger than that but 18 is when it really hit me. I went off to college and I missed my mom a lot. My mom has been suffering from schizophrenia since I was about 6, so I had a hard upbringing. With an unwell mother and an estranged father, I had to deal with a lot.

Anyway, I'm feeling lost right now. I just finished my masters but I don't have a real job yet. I'm lucky enough to still be doing some work in my field in the meantime, but I'm very bored of it. I just want to stay home and sleep on most days. If I'm not working, I can even stay in bed until 4 or 5 pm...just scrolling through social media and taking naps in between.

The holidays have been very hard on me. I haven't spoken to my mom in months because phone calls with her make me very sad and give me massive anxiety. I feel disconnected from my siblings because I feel I cannot totally be myself with them. Most of my family has a pretty religious, conservative line of thinking with regard to things like sexuality, feminitity, etc, so I don't even bother with those topics. I don't even feel comfortable talking to them about things related to therapy, mental health, etc.

I just feel like a very lonely failure. I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to muster the energy to get out of this funk. I'm glad I found this place last night because I was really down and feeling hopeless. I really want this year to be better but it's not been a good start.

@Courtney26

I think the years after college can be very difficult. You finally get adjusted to new routines and maybe make a few friends in college, and then have to start over again. I had a friend in college who had a schizophrenic father, and I did not do a very good job of listening to him, so your post sort of drew me in. I'd just like you to know you've been heard.

@Courtney26 i just wished i was 25 again 2 days ago and ive just had a complete meltdown. I did masters aswell, lost contact friends etc. Took about 2 years then found a job stuck at it and ive been there ever since. Whilst doing this i did a hobby helping others, it improved social skills and just helped me out immensly, i have severe anxiety cannot face the world, not saying its easy, but youve already got something the bulk of the country dont. Initially try somethings out your comfort zone, which are active and give you a social circle. No immediate solution but even posting something on here is a start.

Hi I'm new, I have cptsd. I've had to come off some medication because of side effects. Now I'm laying in bed sick as a dog. They told me it's not as bad as heroin detox, but not easy either. I think im a little resentful. I take pills so I can pass myself off as everyone else. So I dont scream at loud noises, so I dont hide from strangers that look like, sound like, smell like... now I'm laying here a pail beside me, trauma still floating in my head. No further ahead. The people that hurt me, well they're just living and going about their day. And my nightmare won't end, and apperantly there isn't a pill for that. Just discourages I guess.

Where to begin... Plenty of history with depression and anxiety. I'm really lonely, and lots of chronic stresses like bills. I feel stuck and overwhelmed and I can't see any way to change any of the things that are wrong. I signed up for this certification program several months ago, but then the depression and anxiety started hitting me hard again so I've failed it. Idk if it's all mental or my hormones are contributing. I sort of feel like I'm PMSing all the time. I'm sleep deprived because of my job. And to top it all not 1 but 2 deaths recently. The first being the highly emotionally complicated death of my grandfather, who after 25+ years of being my biggest supporter let my grandmother walk them both completely out of my life because I got a divorce. The second being an aquaintance whose death hit me harder than expected because it was suicide and I have bad history.

Sorry if this is a little too vent-y. I'm having a really bad day.

I cant find the information I'm looking for. I am looking to cancel my 7 Cups because I find that having several degrees in psychology, this is NOT the place where I can help people. We are barred from giving any sane advice that I know would greatly help people, and I dont have degrees to just listen to people with my hands tied.

Hi 7 cups community

how am I doing?

not really sure.

I'm back to my insomiac days. I know the insomnia makes the anxiety and the feeling low even on good days.

i recently got married - it's been a little over 2 years and in that time - i was in a car accident that caused me to be paralyzed and then had to have emergency neck surgery.

aside from that I also understand all to well every marriage let alone relationship is not without its conflict.

i have felt out of sorts when it comes to interacting with my husband's family, we are both from exactly opposite cultures.

Hi to the whole community.

I've arrived at 7 Cups because I both want to give and receive support.

I have physical and mental health issues which include Borderline Personality Disorder with psychotic episodes, Persistent Depressive Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Atherosclerosis, Cardiac Artetial Disease, guess those are what cause me the greatest obstacles but also mean that I have personal experience and can empathise with many people who may also suffer or care for a sufferer.

I have experience of other disorders too through my 50 years on the planet and would love to be there for anybody who would like a non-judgemental, friendly ear smiley.

@FlutteringPhoenix I love your name 🤩 I'm so proud of you for reaching out to be here for other folks when you have suffered so much and dor so long. I'm 34 and suffer from GAD depression and feel like I'll never be okay. I have no family support and my husband of 6 years is my only family and my best friend. He's asking me for separation since we fight too much. I'm devastated and terrified to be alone.
