Meh. Not great. Just overwhelmed, tired, tense, and sad.

Nothing honestly. I've got nothing in particular that I'm looking forward to.

I searched Google.

---

I'm an adult who lives with her parents, can't drive because she is way too scared, cries or snaps at the drop of a hat. Has no self-confidence and just feels lost. I just don't know what to do anymore. My family supports me on one hand but then presses me to find work as though Ill get perfectly fine once I do. Thing is, Im terrified.

Example- I looked and looked, finally getting a job recently but, on technically the first day/second day of orientation they suddenly put me on the register. Me. Someone who has severe anxiety social and otherwise. Someone who had to be homeschooled because I couldnt handle being at public school. Whose emotions are of three categories: sad, mad, anxious.

To say it went well would be a lie. I messed up multiple times (I also need to point out that I have no self-confidence, like at all. So Im already thinking that the manager hates my guts because of all my mistakes) during the one hour I was up there and when I was let off I got in my dads truck and burst into tears. Feeling even more like a failure in his eyes.

Now I am trying to get back on medication but I just started this week and already they are insisting I look for work. The thought makes my stomach churn and Ive been up the past few nights feeling scared and ill. I dont know what to do...

@LadyDovahkiin

I hope you don't find me rude for asking, but are there things you at least enjoy? It sound like you worry so much you forget to find things might like. Have you ever tried to go for a stroll, maybe through a park with some trees? What about animals? What about art or maybe a certain type of food?

I like plants a lot so when I feel angry or upset I go out and take care of my plants, they just seem to calm me down. Also I like to cook, something about people gathering over good food makes me feel like I did something right for once.

Hi all

not sure what I'm doing here, occasionally I get like this where the loneliness takes over (with hubby asleep in bed and child also asleep) but still feels totally alone.

the insomnia has returned meaning hours upon hours of feeling like this.

just came somewhere where some like minded people may be just as down in the dumps as me.

feels ridiculous when a 32 yr old woman can't fix herself after all these years but depression doesn't discriminate.

Sorry to hear @Elzy1988 things have got tough. I think when you feel home alone it gets tough can definately sympathise there. I find sometimes just turning on the radio- chat shows etc. can help feel less lonely (I work from home alone and have a very isolating job so understand how it can get hard). Also feel good music can sometimes pick you up? Also another thing is when your family are awake is maybe spend some time talking with them i.e. having meals together and sitting talking about their days? It might help you have something nice to reflect back on when they are all asleep? Just a few suggestions but you might do this anyway! Wishing you the best.

@Elzy1988 likewise sorry to hear. My sleep pattern is all over the shop obviously stress doesnt help. Theres no harm in asking others to help in meantime. Hope youre ok.

@Elzy1988

Yes I can understand you, it's the feeling of loneliness, and you need to find you're own way in my experience to get of that feeling, unfortunately, there is no one size fits all, it can be TV, writing, reading, going out, etc.

Hugs.

Hi to all on 7 Cups,

Im a newbie to this but was really hoping someone could maybe provide some advice or well we can get discussing on how to help people who struggle waking up in the mornings due to depression?

Personally, struggling with this and am sure many do… Ive read somethings online saying a routine etc. helps also SAD lights? Cannot find a decent one as they all seem to be so much money?!

So yeah hoping maybe to discuss with others what their best strategies are or what helps?

Thank you and wishing you all the best in your mental health journeys!

Greetings!

I'm doing okay. It's hard to be happy when I feel like my world is crumbling. But at the same time I forget that my world is crumbling while I'm laughing at work.

I'm not sure what I'm looking forward to this year. Maybe my children starting 2nd grade and kindergarten in the fall? As of right this second it's just another year.

I've been looking for counseling/therapy services near me but none of them work with my current home/work schedule so I decided to look up online services. I read about 7 Cups in an article.

Hey guys :)

I'm new (just joined 20 minutes ago) and I guess just wanted to see if this would help me. My friend suggested I try 7cups, and it seems great so far.

I don't really know what's causing my (probably) depression other than a smallish case of PTSD, and the fact that I am a part of the LGBTQ+ community, which causes some distress when I want to tell others. I didn't really notice that I was down until about a month ago, and apparently I'm farther down than I thought.

That's okay though, because this site seems amazing (and I'm seeing a therapist in real life).

Anyway, if you took the time to read this, thank you :) Have a great day
