Hey there,

It's been a while and being here again is pretty nice. Getting uplifted by helping others is really really helpful on helping myself too.

Hello! Newbie as of today! I struggle a lot with self confidence, self worth, anxiety and depression. Today is starting off to be a good day but ever since being laid off in April due to the covid-19 pandemic, my mood tends to be worse more often. Defintely will need people to talk to! I have had a rough life and know deep down that I am okay now but my ghosts tend to haunt me when I least expect them to.

Hope to chat soon!

I am pretty new in here.

Ian, 44.

I have dsylexia and dyscalculia and struggle with anxiety, depression and self-esteem. I also have physical ailments, I am diabetc and have high blood pressure as well as arthritis and dizzy spells, all of which have only recently been 'diagnosed'. I have been refered for Ehlers-Danlos and Autism assessemnts, but, could be waiting some time.

I have struggle on for a long time without any diagnosis, I only started working at about 25 and dont normally stay in work for long periods of time, though I have had a few jobs which have last 2+ years. Its has not been an issue so far, as I live at home with an elderly parent.

I started my current job five years ago tommorrow, I believe. But the last few years have been hell. I worked the post, sorting and sending to correct departments and then moved on to sending out Wills and documents to the customer. I also work a couple of queues which are really easy. I used to offer IT support and order stationey.

About two years ago, my team leader left and they decided to "equalise" the teams, bringing in hourly rates and an accuracy rate of 98%, I have been in several meetings over my performance and have been a a PIP for two years. In one meeting I was really annoyed and basically screamed "that I have learning issues".

I was sent for an OHC assessement, and believe this was soley to get a negative result, but, it came back as I mentioned above. They offered me software and extra hour to do my work, which is their defualt response for all wit disability. However, I am still struggling which is so annoying as before stats and accuracy were brought in I was getting employee of the month.

Recenlty, it dawned on me, I wont always have someone to fall back on and if I keep bouncing in and out of work, I wont be able to afford the house I live in and could loose everything. I have been an fool at times, as when I workd I bought whatever I wanted and didn't save anything.

I recently started telephone CBT after a farce of getting it set up.

Monday was a new low, I got up, felt lousy and tried to do some garden work but felt ill I came back inside and rested. I decided to go up stairs to lay down and had some kind of fit and was taken to hospital where I stayed in overnight. They took all my detals and report I had been taken unwell in the heat even though I have had similar incident without doing anything physical or in this weather.

I feel that everything hangs on the result of my autism assessment and that the only time anyone will do anything is when its too late. I am worried for my future.

I understand 'normal' people have the same issues as well.

Hi! Newbie here :) I've never been too good with coping with the stessors of life and usually just shut down and cut off all communication. Life is extrememly stressful lately being a nurse and dealing with COVID so it seems overwhelming and maybe talking will help.
