Spouse, Caregiver, Mom of 3 under 10.

My name is Janna, I’m 31 years old, I am a full-time caregiver for my partner Austin is 33. I am also the Mum of three beautiful children: Layla (9), Emerson (7), and Asher (5).

In 2019, our lives changed drastically when Austin was suddenly diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy and advanced heart failure. It was a a HORRIBLE time, even more overwhelming when we found out that he carries a rare genetic mutation called the TTN gene, which affects the heart’s ability to function properly. Since then, he has undergone the placement of an ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator), He has an LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device), and is currently listed on the Heart Transplant List. 

Until recently, we were holding on as best as we could. But just this past week, we received the devastating news that all three of our children also have the same TTN genetic mutation.
