I heard about this site through a friend named Kelli. I am actually getting some help from Kelli because I am going through a condition called agoraphobia and she is more like a peer counselor for me and she told me about this site. I actually came here to talk but after the first time talking, I realized that instead I wanted to become a listener. I absolutely love this site. I cannot express to Kelli how grateful I am that she introduced me to 7cupsoftea. I was feeling like for such a long time that maybe I wasn't contributing to life because I am housebound due to my condition. (3 going on 4 years now) and being on here has made me feel like I can make a difference and it's already made a huge difference in my life. =)
Welcome to 7Cups! I love what you said about feeling like you can contribute and give back to the community, and on your own terms. I have hours that are difficult to predict and am loving the flexibility that I can have here -- I can feel like I'm helping with just a few hours.
I can understand how you feel as I have had a long history of mental health issues, eventually I was diagnosed with a severe condition, amongst other things also I suffer severe agorophobia and am housebound for months and months on end. Currently now I have been housebound for, nearly 4 months now, I must admit am isolated too, I joined as a listener about a month ago, helping others is what I am here to do. :-)
Hi i knew nothing about this site till my magic cursor just happened to magically make it appear in front of me .. I was curious and came here and got a lovely surprise i could talk to someone for free . So i spoke to a listener and they where brilliant .. I was extremely impressed . After having a good look around the site i realized i could also join 7 cups of Tea .. I am now an active Listener here and i am really happy talking and helping others . Giving hope in lives that may not have any without 7 cups .. I thank each and every listener on this site .. You are all angels and i love you all .. God bless each one of you for the hours time patience and love you put in ..
I actually found 7 cups because I was going through some trouble myself. I typed in depression online chat help and 7 cups was the first to pop up! :D
