Trying to be better

Hey everyone, I'm Candi. I found 7 cups while doing research on support groups. I am wanting to connect with others to help through my grief and my problems opening up emotionally to others. I recently had a relationship of 3 years end because instead of opening up with my guy, I emotionally connected to someone else over the loss of my grandpa. The emotional connection turned into a flirtatious connection. Despite nothing physical ever happening, the communication alone destroyed my relationship. My ex has been incredibily supportive even though I have broken his heart. He has agreed to continuing an open communication line to insure that I will be okay and find the help that I need. He doesn't have to do that after what I have done. He is so strong and I appreciate him so much.

I am on here to get myself better but also to repair the friendship that our relationship was built on and to be a better version of the woman he fell in love with.

Thank you

So it has been over a month since the breakup. I am not ready for anything dating wise, but I am starting to develop a crush on someone. I feel like it is too soon to start anything serious so I am focusing on building a friendship instead of going head first. With developing a crush, I am starting to question if there were other reasons behind my breakup that led me here than I realized.

It's been some time since I have been on here. I have been so happy lately. I've made a new friend who I don't feel pressure from. If I say something that is a bit odd, it's okay. I'm not being judged. It is such a freedom when you just are you and don't worry about anyone else around.
I've been waking up smiling everyday for the last few weeks. I go to bed smiling. I still do get emotional talking about my grandpa, but it isn't consuming my every day life anymore. His birthday is coming up soon, I asked my new friend if we could do something so I am not alone that day and he responded in the simplest but most effective way. He said "I'll be there." That statement as simple as it was, was the most genuine thing I have been told in the last two years.
