I'm fairly new to the site, I mainly just dip in the forums and read a few posts and try to answer a few along the way. I stumbled across this site without looking for it, and whilst ive been here, I've managed to gain a few tips and apply them to my life which is quite a challenging time at the moment with many changes.
What do you like about the site?

I always wanted to help people around the globe, who are less fortunate. But unfortunately after applying to NGO's, they all look at investors or some one to help around in office. Not my cup of tea, so search led to here. I love helping people here, mostly I listen to venters, I help people come for depression under job stress and no job to find a job,setting up profile. I support those who need a shoulder to cry and chat with those who come because they are bored. This site enables me to do what I love and I love doing it.

I can relate to your post immensely, supporting people can be greatly rewarding. My work involves working closely with mainly children and their families who are going through life changing conditions. I absolutely love my work but at times it can be very emotional and upsetting, it's a vital part of my job to manage my emotions, I manage this no problem, because I always manage my own sadness in an appropriate environment, however the past year I haven't been able to do that due to my own life changing situations, so I suddenly feel like my own outlet has been lost and I'm constantly carry my professional image 24/7. Life is complicated isnt it!!
Anyway, I'm sure one day when you least expect it, your dream job will come along, in the meantime take pleasure and comfort from the people you have already helped, those your yet to meet. Good luck with everything Necron.

It's sad and also exciting to hear your story, I always thought it would be challenging emotionally when we try to work in 3rd world countries. Especially kids I once lost my emotion for 2 days when I saw this kid on the road, and literally unable to help. Thing is from time to time it remains us what we need to do. And where this world is at, hopefully will able to help a few more before we part ways with this world.
