I started my New Year by taking a first big step to making changes in my career. I'm thinking of giving it a month's time to see if I get a response from the company I sent off the Cover Letter & Resume to. As the company is overseas, I'm thinking of giving them more time to respond. So, I started my year on a good note.
Reflecting on 2023, I'd say, the greatest thing about it is mainly deciding on making a career change, and working my way to making this happen (sending off the Cover Letter & Resume, as it took me 3 months to prepare). In 2023, I've also gotten a bit closer to some Anesthesia Doctors at work. There are two of them of which I can call them by their first names, rather than Dr. ____. So, that's a good thing. I saw one of them at the end of December, and was able to have a quick chat with him, just asking how our Christmas Holidays went. As he wasn't at our Hospital during the Holidays, so did a quick catch up in between his cases. The other Anesthetist was probably on vacation. These two are the main contact persons, in regards to my job. If there are any changes in the product/drugs, I would contact these two Doctors.
For the year ahead, I'm going to continue to make my dream career come true, or at least, get closer to the achievement. I've also decided to change myself a bit too. (My mum had another talk with me this morning, something that I might mention in another Post). I know because of work, I'll either need to find a new job, or stick with the possibility of someone who hates me/holds a grudge against me, and have my mental health at risk. So, in these 5-6 months, I'll need to start exploring what my next options are. If I stay in healthcare, I might need to look at other positions or even a different hospital. If I pursue my dream career, I might still need to keep working until I succeed in landing that career change.
As for how the community can support me.. probably the best thing is to be around to listen to my concerns or things that I want to share about.
