How do women do it?
Hi.
I'm honestly tired of being a female. Not in an ungrateful and unappreciative tone. But a drained, frustrated and angry POV.
How do women put up with unlearning things you thought were normal growing up, only to realize it's all up to you?
How do women put up with 4 different phases, every month, of every year? And still go to work and or school with strong faces?
How do women still love a gender that has been so selfish and unfair throughout this life, and treat them with dignity and care?
How do women live through the many motions of life, with hormonal changes happening almost all the time?
How do women do it??
I wanted to use this space to clear my heart out, because I'm tired and angry, but I need help from my fellow sisters.

😔
I'm sorry you are struggling!
It's not easy or fair at times.
We have alot to contend with and still put a smile on our faces.
We are stereotyped all the time.
And judged.
And expected to just role with it.
But never forget , no man defines your worth.
It's hard at times but you are beautiful, strong and capable, just as you are 🧡

I appreciate you and your words❤️

A pleasure 💜
Hi @graduallygrowin444
I felt every word of this. I think a lot of women ask themselves these same questions but rarely say them out loud. There are days when it feels exhausting carrying the emotional, physical, and mental load that comes with being a woman. The constant changes, expectations, responsibilities, and pressure can feel overwhelming. What amazes me is that women keep showing up anyway. We learn, adapt, heal, and keep moving forward even when we're tired. Not because we're superheroes, but because we've had to become resilient. That doesn't mean we have to enjoy every part of it or pretend it's easy. I don't think there's anything wrong with feeling angry or drained. You don't have to have all the answers right now. Sometimes it's enough to admit "I'm tired" and let other women remind you that you're not carrying these feelings alone.

It's hard! It can be even more difficult if you have children. Sometimes I just need to take time to myself and do things that I enjoy such as doing my makeup, nails or hair, lighting a candle, reading a book or watching a movie. Other times I need to reframe my thoughts into something more positive. It can be a never ending battle and there's times where I just need to think of myself as a warrior and remind myself that I can do hard things.

First, I just want to say that your feelings come across very clearly in this post, and I think many women can relate to at least some part of what you're expressing.
I don't think women "do it" because they are somehow naturally stronger or less affected by these challenges. I think many of us learn, sometimes reluctantly, how to adapt, cope, and keep moving forward because life continues to ask that of us. That doesn't mean it is easy, fair, or that we never become exhausted by it.
What resonated with me most was the feeling of carrying responsibilities, expectations, and constant change while still being expected to function as though nothing is happening. There are times when that can feel overwhelming.
At the same time, I think many women develop a remarkable capacity for resilience, empathy, and self-reflection through those experiences. Not because suffering is a virtue, but because navigating challenges often teaches us things about ourselves that we might not have learned otherwise.
I don't have a perfect answer to your question. I think some days we do it gracefully, and other days we simply do the best we can. Perhaps that, in itself, is enough. You don't have to be strong every moment, and you don't have to carry your frustrations alone. Thank you for sharing something so honest and vulnerable.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you @TheJourneyOfResilience (I love your account name BTW) sooo much for feeling this with me. I love and appreciate your response, makes me feel less alone in this journey being a woman.
I appreciate that you didn't force advice with this post and read the emotion behind it. I love and appreciate you sm.
