I Feel Broken

I have been struggling with chronic pain for years, since I was 17. The last 3 years have been the worst of it though. There have been times I was literally stuck in bed for two weeks. Now I feel like my pain has me questioning everything about my life. I feel helpless and hopeless. My depression and anxiety have become unbearable. I feel guilty. I want a family, but I'm not able to carry children, and with my pain I don't feel like being a foster parent or adopting is a realistic option. I mean, how can I take care of a child when I can't care for myself? I'm just lost in life right now.

@SouthernSiren

🥺

I'm sorry you are in so much pain!

I would genuinely love to take it all away from you.

I'm sorry you cannot have children.

That's so much to process and come to terms with. I hope you know, you still matter, you still have worth.

I hope you feel better soon, or can get better pain management options!

Sending you my best wishes!

💜💕

@SouthernSiren chronic pain is something people don't really understand unless they experience it, so my wish for you is that you'll be able to find people who truly understand what you have to deal with, what your burden is and how strong you are for facing it and dealing with everyday life despite everything. Understanding and empathy can really be a great comfort, a safe space. But pain still doesn't disappear.
You're not weak nor unable to reach what you dream of, even though it may feel impossible sometimes. I'm not a parent myself, but I believe it's possible to raise a child while dealing with chronic pain, especially if you have a good support system and people to rely on by your side. Raising a child, as they say, "takes a village". I truly hope you can get there one day, if that is what you wish for.
