Hi, im not an adult yet but when I was 12-13 (I can’t remember what age) I was followed by a man frim breakfast (we were staying at a hotel). I was walking back to my room and then was going up to the stairs and heard someone ask “How’s it going?” I turned around and he was standing at the bottom of the stairs and no one was around. He wasnt going anywhere. He followed me from the table just behind the one me and my fam were sitting at. I turned to go back up the stairs and after a few seconds I turned around to see if he was still there and he was and asked me again “how’s it going?” I wanted to scream. I thought I was gonna get gr@p3d. I have a disability WHOCH makes it harder for me to move and I couldnt escape or run. I was terrified for my life cuz I had no clue what he would do and he also was texting someone and I was just terrified. He didn’t end up doing anything but that has traumatised me for years. Ive had other rly bad experiences w males and im just tired of it. Ik i havent beem through the worst amd I feel bad for complaining since it wasn’t that bad but like it’s affected me a lot. Ive also been grabbed by a man after getting on a bus but I don’t wanna go into to that. Ive had men looking down my top, had one older student staring at my *** (it was behind the stage at a school play and I was in booty shorts ciz Thats what we had to wear so we could change easily infront of the other cast and I was bending down to get smth out of my bag or put smth in (i cant crouch down ciz of my didabikity) and he was behind me he had his bottle in his hand but he wasn’t drinking and was just staring right in the direction of my *** and nothing was behind me and when I turned to see if he was staring he quickly looked away and started walking to his bag or smth. I don’t trust men and im tired of it ciz it’s started affecting my ability to trust my school male teachers as well even tho theyve done nothing but been rly nice and caring and just good ppl (well in my new school at least)

Hi @Panda2026

Im sorry you went through this, as a teen girl as well sometime being around men while in a public setting can be scary. You have a right to feel safe and at ease while being around friends and family. You are justified in being nervous around other males due to these experiences, it can be hard to seperate how you view everyone due to this.

If you want to talk to someone one on one about it there are listeners available if you choose to reach out.
