T/w- Religious trauma

I need to get something off my chest. Religion often claims to guide people toward love and justice, but when I look closely, I see how deeply it betrays women. So many teachings, traditions, and rules place women in positions of silence, submission, or shame—and it breaks me inside.

As an  non religious person, I feel angry and upset watching how faith systems that are supposed to offer comfort end up limiting women’s choices, freedom, and dignity. It hurts me emotionally because I know countless women suffer under these restrictions, and it makes me feel powerless and heavy-hearted.

I carry frustration, sadness, and even grief over how something meant to unite people can so often divide and diminish women. Sharing this here is my way of letting some of that weight out, hoping I’m not alone in these feelings.

@FeministWarrior I share the same feelings, I believe that if religions preached about men the things they preach about women they would not be as widespread. Unfortunately, lots of women who grow up into religious environment fall prey to abuse and limitations to their life and to the expression of their full potential. It might not be everyone's experience, but it's surely a common one.
All we can do is offer alternatives to women who find themselves unsatisfied with the role they've been given within their religious community, and do our best to make sure that religious beliefs are never imposed on people.
