Devastating diagnosis of endometriosis
My beautiful, talented, vivacious young daughter in her very early thirties has recently been diagnosed with endometriosis. She had been having painful periods for several years, knew much about this condition.
We were fortunate enough to be able to consult a competent surgeon who has done robotic laparoscopic excision surgery on her. The hormonal pills recommended as a follow up to the surgery had dreadful side-effects. This diagnosis has left her shaken and nsecure about her future.
One in seven women of reproductive age suffer from this condition. I am appalled at the lack of information about this illness. Not much funding is released for research into this frightening, painful disease and a cure is nowhere in sight.
I want to increase awareness. I want women's groups and forums to clamour for research into this disease that is destroying the lives of so many young women.
If you suffer from painful periods please consult a good specialist and get yourself diagnosed. The earlier you catch it, the better.

Firstly, I want to extend out my warmest apology to your daughter during this difficult time. Having an Endo experience is tough, and I know it does come with alot of complications. Secondly, I want you both to know my heart is out there to you both. Sending so much love, and peace to both of you!
I also wanted to share that I am glad she was able to be diagnosed. Also this month is endo awareness month so I will be sure to wrire a thread post on it and you are more than welcome tp share your experience on my thread! ❤️

Thank you. How do I go about increasing awareness of endometriosis? My daughter and I are well educated and well read. We still didn't realize that her painful periods were due to this condition.
There just isn't sufficient awareness or information about this illness.
