confronting sexism in our community and beyond
i am so sick and tired of the constant barrage of sexism that we have to deal with every day. it's everywhere, from the media we consume to the workplaces we inhabit, and it's suffocating.
why is it that even in spaces that are supposed to be safe for women, like this forum, we are still constantly undermined by men who can't stand the idea of us having a voice? they belittle us, they harass us, and they try to take up all the space. i'm done with it. i'm done with being told that our experiences are invalid, that our opinions don't matter, that we should just shut up and let the men talk.
this forum is a space for women, and we should be able to speak freely without fear of judgment or harassment. but even here, we are not safe from them.
we need to stand up and fight back against sexism, in every way we can. we need to be vocal and unapologetic about our experiences, our opinions, and our right to be heard. we need to call out the men who try to silence us, and we need to create a community of support and solidarity that can weather the storms of misogyny that come our way.
i know we're exhausted, but we can't afford to give up. we can't afford to let them get the best of us. we need to keep pushing back against sexism, both on this forum and in the wider world. we need to make our voices heard, loud and clear, until the day when we can all live in a society that respects us.
@butterlycow I completely understand your frustration and anger about the constant presence of sexism in our daily lives. It's unacceptable that even in spaces that are meant to be safe for women, like this forum, we still have to deal with harassment and belittlement from men who feel threatened by our voices. We need to create a culture that values and uplifts women's experiences and opinions, rather than trying to silence or invalidate them.
It's important that we continue to stand up and fight back against sexism, not just for ourselves, but for future generations of women. We need to create a supportive community where we can share our experiences and be heard without fear of judgment or harassment. And we must hold those who perpetrate sexism accountable for their actions.
Remember, we are not alone in this fight. Let's continue to speak up, support one another, and work towards a world where women's voices are truly heard and respected ❤️
@butterlycow I just took female off of my profile. Many of the chats I was getting were guys thinking they are on a dating/*** site! I don't even want to be female on here because you get treated differently.
@Heart4art many females experience this here, and it's just horrible, and I am so angry that the site managers turn a blind eye to it. I have received so many messages like this from these gross pigs who sexualize all of us. they are anything but listeners, just big jerks. (by the way, when will there finally be control over the listeners? how is it possible that anyone can become one?) we are promised safety here, but it's almost worse than in real life.
