Located in Talkeetna, AK, the Elders Program by APIA is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors in our community through a range of essential support services. We offer caregiver training, case management, and durable medical equipment to assist with basic needs. Our program includes consumer-directed personal care assistant services, respite care, and fall prevention education to ensure the safety and well-being of our elderly population. We provide critical assistance with Medicare and Medicaid, alongside opportunities to engage through our Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). Monthly elder food boxes, regular social gatherings like teas and potlucks, and transportation services in the Anchorage area foster connection among seniors. We also focus on advocacy and resource assistance to navigate the complexities of aging, including training in mental health first aid and gatekeeper training. Our mission is to empower elders to lead healthy and fulfilling lives while receiving the care and support they deserve.
