Nutrition Services, part of the Top of Alabama Regional Council of Governments (TARCOG), is dedicated to ensuring that seniors across Athens, AL, and the surrounding counties of De Kalb, Jackson, Limestone, Madison, and Marshall have access to vital nourishment. Our program offers hot, nutritious meals that meet at least one-third of the daily-recommended dietary allowances specifically designed for older adults, ensuring they receive the essential nutrients they need to thrive. We also provide convenient home-delivered meals for those who may have difficulty accessing our services. While we encourage contributions from our senior participants, we firmly believe that no one should be denied food assistance due to financial constraints, which is why we have a nominal suggested donation of $1.25 per meal. We are here to support our elderly community members with compassion and care.
