About Magnolia Creek

Magnolia Creek provides specialized residential treatment for women and adolescent girls struggling with eating disorders including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, compulsive exercise, and related conditions. Located on a serene 40-acre wooded property with a private lake in Columbiana, Alabama, this women-only facility creates a peaceful healing environment about an hour from Birmingham. The treatment approach combines evidence-based interventions with holistic therapies in personalized 30-day residential programs. Clients engage daily in individual therapy, group sessions, and experiential activities utilizing proven modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and motivational interviewing. The program incorporates diverse therapeutic experiences including animal-assisted therapy, wilderness therapy, art therapy, music therapy, and adventure therapy. The colonial-style residence accommodates up to 14 clients in comfortable surroundings featuring a living room with fireplace and inviting wraparound porch. An on-site chef prepares three nutritious meals daily, while the grounds offer opportunities for therapeutic walks, yoga practice, and horseback riding. Following residential care, clients typically transition to a Partial Hospitalization Program where they apply their coping skills at home while continuing daily treatment programming. Family involvement is encouraged through a monthly three-day intensive program, and ongoing aftercare support helps maintain recovery progress. Magnolia Creek holds Joint Commission accreditation and works with most private insurance providers to facilitate treatment access.
