At The Salvation Army Tehachapi Community Center in Bakersfield, CA, we are dedicated to providing essential food assistance and social services to our community. Our Fresh Rescue program supplies fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, and meat to those in need, operating every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday morning. As a USDA commodities site, we distribute food on the third Tuesday of each month, ensuring families have access to nutritious options. Our Senior Sack program offers special support for seniors on the second and fourth Mondays, while our after-school program welcomes 6th to 12th grade students on weekdays from 2pm to 5pm, enhancing their well-being with free educational activities when school is in session.
