Since 1946, The Guidance Center has delivered comprehensive mental health services to children, adolescents, young adults, and families across California. Their outpatient programs address a wide spectrum of needs, from prevention and early intervention to support for families facing chronic illness or disadvantaged circumstances. The center specializes in treating children and teens struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety, behavioral disorders, and ADHD through a strengths-based approach that recognizes each child's unique capabilities. The center's compassionate clinicians provide individual, group, and family therapy, complemented by medication management, psychiatric assessments, crisis intervention, and case management services. For very young children (ages 0-5) who have experienced attachment trauma, specialized therapists work closely with families to promote healthy development and recovery. Their parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) program offers hands-on coaching for parents of children ages 2-8, helping them build stronger bonds, enhance parenting skills, and effectively address behavioral challenges.
