This licensed and certified facility operates across seven home-like properties in safe residential neighborhoods, providing gender-separated accommodations for up to 57 clients at a time. Each location features comfortable private or shared bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens, bathing facilities, and common areas with television and telephone access. Clients also have computer and internet availability for education and job-seeking purposes. The center implements a phase-based treatment model spanning 90 days, designed to gradually increase client independence and responsibility. Treatment begins with a two-week blackout phase and progresses through three or four advancement levels, with each phase typically lasting between two weeks and one month. As clients advance, they gain more freedom for activities outside the facility, including work, education, and recreational outings. Humboldt Recovery Center's therapeutic community approach addresses numerous aspects of recovery, including family relationships, parenting skills, vocational support, education assistance, and medical care coordination. The program emphasizes proper nutrition and physical fitness, with on-site fitness facilities and nutritional counseling. For those ready to enter the workforce, counselors provide vocational guidance, leveraging established community business connections for potential job placement. The center conducts mandatory random drug and alcohol testing at least three times weekly for residential clients. Non-narcotic medication-assisted treatment is available under supervision when prescribed by physicians. Family reconnection is encouraged, with regular visitation opportunities for children and family members. Following residential treatment, clients can participate in nine months of complementary aftercare services through the alumni association. This program includes ongoing counseling, peer support through twice-weekly group meetings, and sober social activities, creating a sustained recovery community for graduates.
