About Foster Grandparent Program
The Foster Grandparent Program empowers seniors aged 55 and older to become mentors, tutors, and caregivers for children and youth with exceptional needs. This vital community initiative enhances the lives of both volunteers and the young individuals they support. Participants commit to serving 15 to 40 hours per week, providing one-on-one guidance in schools, daycare facilities, and other settings. In return for their service, Foster Grandparents receive a tax-free stipend, reimbursement for transportation, and a supportive training platform.
