Meals on Wheels, operated by Community Renewal Team in Simsbury, CT, is dedicated to ensuring that medically homebound seniors in Middlesex, Tolland, and Hartford counties receive nutritious meals right at their doorstep. Our program offers home-delivered healthy lunches, volunteer check-ins for added companionship and support, and accommodations for special dietary needs, all with the goal of enhancing the well-being of our seniors. While we suggest a modest donation of $3.00 per meal to help sustain this vital service, we believe that no one should go without a meal due to financial constraints. We welcome referrals from healthcare providers, hospitals, visiting nurse associations, and local social services, and upon receiving an application, we aim to start meal deliveries within two days after conducting a need assessment through an interview or home visit.
