About Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program in North Pole, DC, is dedicated to fostering healthy food habits among low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children up to five years of age. Our mission is to provide comprehensive food assistance and nutrition education that empowers families to thrive. Participants receive essential resources, including nutrition counseling, breastfeeding support, and access to nutritious foods packed with vital nutrients such as calcium, protein, and vitamins A, D, and C. We also offer immunization assessments and referrals to healthcare and social services. For families with children over one year old, WIC enhances access to fresh produce through the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program available from May to November, ensuring that healthy options are within reach for those we serve.
