The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program in Parcel Return Service, DC, is dedicated to fostering healthy nutritional habits among low-income pregnant and postpartum women, as well as infants and children up to five years old. WIC offers vital services including nutrition counseling and education, breastfeeding support, and access to essential healthy foods rich in calcium, protein, iron, and vitamins A, D, and C. In addition, we conduct immunization assessments and provide referrals to health and social services. For children over one year old, WIC enriches their diets with fresh fruits and vegetables through the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program, available from May to November.
