In Washington, DC, the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Food Program is committed to supporting the health and well-being of low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, along with infants and children up to five years old. Our program offers vital nutrition counseling and education, as well as essential breastfeeding support and resources. We provide access to healthy foods rich in calcium, protein, iron, and essential vitamins, ensuring families receive the nourishment they need. WIC also includes comprehensive services such as immunization assessments, referrals to health and social service providers, as well as medical, birthing, dental, and emotional wellness services. Importantly, participants do not need to show proof of U.S. citizenship to access our support. We are here to empower families and foster healthy growth for children in our community.
