Based in Delmar, Delaware, the Cape Henlopen Food Basket (CHFB) is dedicated to providing essential emergency food assistance to individuals and families in need within the Cape Henlopen School District. We understand the urgency of food security and strive to ensure that everyone who reaches out receives help, offering a 10-day supply of both canned and frozen food, along with a supermarket voucher for fresh items like milk, eggs, margarine, and bread. Our mission is to serve without judgment or eligibility requirements, allowing immediate access to vital resources for all. Should clients require assistance more than three times within a three-month period, we connect them with Delaware State Social Services for a comprehensive evaluation and potential further support from our food pantry. Please note that our operations align with local weather conditions—if the Cape Henlopen School District is closed, so too are our services.
