Located in Fenwick Island, DE, the Cape Henlopen Food Basket (CHFB) is dedicated to providing emergency food assistance to anyone in need within the Cape Henlopen School District in Sussex County. Our mission is simple: to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry. We offer families a comprehensive 10-day supply of canned and frozen goods, along with supermarket vouchers for essential fresh items like milk, eggs, margarine, and bread. Clients facing ongoing food insecurity are referred to Delaware State Social Services for additional support beyond our initial assistance. The wellbeing of our community is our priority, and we guarantee that every individual who seeks help will receive it, without judgment. Please note that CHFB operates in alignment with the Cape Henlopen School District schedule; we are closed during weather-related school closures.
