Located in Greenwood, DE, the Cape Henlopen Food Basket (CHFB) is dedicated to providing emergency food assistance to individuals and families within the Cape Henlopen School District in Sussex County. We believe that everyone deserves access to food, which is why we offer a welcoming and non-judgmental service where no evaluation of need is required. Clients can receive a comprehensive 10-day supply of canned and frozen food along with a supermarket voucher for fresh essentials like milk, eggs, margarine, and bread. Our commitment to support extends to those facing ongoing food insecurity, as we work closely with Delaware State Social Services for referrals when food is needed more than three times within a three-month period. Please note that our service is affected by weather conditions; we are closed when the Cape Henlopen School District is closed due to snow or other emergencies.
